Sparking Bioremediation: Our Community Workshops

Our workshops are designed to engage the community in discussions about areas in Hawaiʻi that are heavily impacted by pollution and explore how bioremediation could offer solutions in each region.

For many participants, this will be their first introduction to bioremediation. Therefore, the workshop includes an overview of the field, along with a deeper cultural understanding of each area discussed.

By the end of the workshop, participants will gain insight into how pollution affects all of Hawaiʻi, how specific bioremediation protocols can serve as a remedy, and how to approach the topic from an indigenous perspective.
